So it finally happened….. Logan decided to add a Logasaurus touch to something I asked him to bring upstairs while I dug out some his Lego (sneaky)
Any ideas how to remove crayon artgantuan??
I can’t really be mad he’s never done anything like this before, other than digitally and that was easy enough to delete the layer.
D’aaaawwww! It’s cute and kinda sad at the same time, haha!
Yeah, you can digitally remove a lot of the crayon with the eraser, or hue/saturation targeting cyan and yellow. From an original standpoint, if you’re planning on doing marker rendering, or an inkwash, you might want to either cut out the eyes. Then, you can tape some Bristol to the back and redraw the eyes. Or, like animators do, add a strip of yellow post it note and redraw that section. The yellow drops out in hue/saturation like anything else. You can also use some white acrylic. Since it’s crayon, erasing is pretty much out of the question.
When I worked at the elementary level, I had kids find ways to ‘add’ to my art. So, believe me, there’s usually a way to bring things like this back from the dead!
Thanks Evan!! Fortunately I already have a badass digital copy of this (it’s the one you helped me with) I’ll have to try and find a white eraser as both kneadable and gum haven’t work. I had thought about trying to hide it with some screen tone sheets but I dont think I have enough to do the whole image. Looks like Logan just gave me an excuse to place an order with jetpens.
